me too

I think I check this blog as many times as Ash does, maybe more! So I'll work on posting more if everyone else does too. I love the beach picture. I keep asking Phil when we can get to NY, he always has something to do, so maybe I'll just have to come alone again! I'm hoping I can get him to rent me a convertible! I wonder if I can get the little boy that came with this one?

End of the Semester!!

Hello all...

the blog seems kind of dead, and has been for awhile. Where is everyone? How is everyone? I check this like 20Xs a day at least hoping to see somehting from someone, but no luck, so i guess ill just write about the last two days of my semester. So i will be officially done this Saturday. I have my last exam of Sat. and then its off to Gowanda!!! Yay! I am pretty excited about that... but really nothing else exciting has happened to me lately so hope to hear from you all soon!!

Still Winter in Perrysburg

Hi Everybody! The pictures are of course great! Wow those little ones are growing like weeds!! Pretty weeds. Not much going on here. I have spent the last two sundays after church over at Point Gratiot just watching the people and the lake. I usually get my 2 Sunday donuts, newspaper, coffee and enjoy that over there in the car. Then take a walk. It was so cold last week my walk pretty much took my breath away. but it is sooo beautiful over there. I just love it. I saw Dottie last Sunday at her house for a short time. She is fine. Mya was napping so I didn't see her. Tonight I think Cam had a lacrosse game. I saw them at the field on my way home. I wasn't really dressed warm enough to stop so I will call them later and see who won. Sounds like you are all very busy. Good job Brandi. I never could figure out why anyone would want to add abc with numbers. Algebra was foreign tongue to me. I do have daffodils growing by my back door but we are supposed to get snow tonight and that may be the end of them. I thought about picking them but I really like to see them when I drive in so I'll take my chances. Any one know how to get rid of ants? They are having a big bash in my kitchen and diningroom. They have already eaten half a bottle of TARO and still are partying!! Gram and Gramp T are doing fairly well and I leave next Thursday for Gettysburg with Sylvi Taylor. I will be back either Mon or Tue and go back to work Wed. I can't wait. That many days away from work will be wonderful. I will write again to Jon tonight. Praying for ya Jay. I have a prayer request. I am thinking of not teaching my Sunday School Class at least for the summer and possibly not this fall. Please ask God to make it plain to me what I should do. The class consists of a great group of ladies anyone of them capable of leading the class. I just don't want them all angry at me.
I also want to attend another church for awhile. Take care. I love you all. Gram

Easter Fun

I've been wondering the same thing as Brandi, where is everyone? I had a great time being with Brandi and her family for my birthday, not only did Brandi get me a plane ticket but she bought me birthday dinner! My grand kids are beautiful as you can see! Phil surprised everyone and flew down Friday night to spend a few days with us. His rental car was a convertible so that was a lot of fun. Little Ruben rode with us after the Easter egg hunt. He realized there was candy inside the eggs, so he was putting the candy in his basket and throwing the eggs out of the car! Coloring eggs was an adventure, I'm not sure that the eggs were the things with the most color, it was every where, and so fun!
Phil came home last night, he was supposed to have the day off today, but a KY soldier died over the weekend, and it's Phil's job to make sure everything is taken care of for the family, so he is really busy, but I do get to go with him to his conference this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that!
I got an email from Jon today. He is pretty home sick, he was asking me to tell him all about the extended family, so if you think of it send him a letter. They say snail mail is better because it can be read over and over.
J is looking for a new job, pray that he can find something he likes, has insurance, and makes more money then McDonalds. Love you all! Tami

A lot of thinking

So lately i have been doing a lot of thinking about many things. I have been made aware of all the suffering and hurting people around our world through various classes and groups here at school. I have been thinking a lot about that...about the sex trafficked children around the world, about the immigrant rights, about child soldiers, about the persecuted church about using contextualization in reaching people for Christ, as well as what i can be doing on the reservation to help the people there come to know Christ. Many things to think about and i am glad that God has given me the chance to experience these issues. They have helped me to see God more clearly and have given me the desire to want to know and understand him in a deeper more real way. Today in my contemporary church and missions class two people were making presentations. One was the use of contextualization in ministering to Muslims. I feel really strongly about contextualization, i feel that it should be used to bring the gospel to other culture groups. I feel that many times people who are opposed to this technique do not realize that the western way of being a Christian is actually a form of contextualization, that has happened over the course of hundreds of years. Today as western believers we do not practice Christianity in the ways that the first Christians in Antioch did. If people are going to denounce different cultural groups rights to practice Christianity in their cultural ways then should we as western Christians be allowed to practice Christianity in our ways? I just can't really stop think about this stuff lately and i could go on and ON about this topic but i stop for now. I just wanted to let you all know that this is what i have been thinking about lately, and to encourage you all to be praying for some of the issues that i have listed. Love you all and have a lovely Easter!!
